The resort island of Lakawon is mostly visited by Filipinos, so tourists who venture here enjoy a mix of island living and cultural exposure. The amenities cater to locals with a mix of water sports, mid-range hotels and excellent seafood restaurants serving local delicacies.

Most of the attractions are nature-based. Sites like Cabagacayan Falls, Busac-Busac Spring and Cornel Swimming Pool are particularly popular, but the waterfall is the only viable attraction for international visitors. Transport to most attractions involves a jeepney ride out of town followed by a short hike.

Getting There & Away

The nearest airport is in Bacalod, an hour’s drive away. From here it is only a 45-minute flight to Manila where international transport options easily arranged. Buses from Cadiz depart for Bacalod several times an hour. Ferries regularly depart for Bantayan Island]], which can be reached in 3 to 4 hours.
