Amnat Charoen Travel Guide
This tiny town in northeastern Thailand really has little to offer visitors. If you are looking for extreme relaxation this might be a good place to visit, but there isn't much in the way of entertainment.

- the official symbol of Amnat Charoen is an image of a Buddha called Phra Mongkol Ming Muang, which appears in the middle of the provincial seal.
Although you won't find many of the tourist attractions that are abundant in other parts of Thailand, this is a good place to wander through picturesque rice paddies and fruit orchards and explore the temples with their sacred Buddha images. The area is famous for its handicrafts, making it a good place to pick up a few souvenirs.
A good time to visit Amnat Charoen is during the winter when you can ride the rapids on the mighty Mekong River. Relax beside the river in the evening with a beer or two and a good meal.
Travel to Amnat Charoen - Getting There
The easiest way to get to Amnat Charoen is by taking an air-conditioned coach from Bangkok. Alternatively, the nearest airport is 75kms away at Ubon Ratchathani and you can catch a bus between the two towns.

Buddha Park and Phra Mongkhon Ming Mueang just three kilometers from Amnat Charoen, this park contains a large number of unusual Buddha images.
Wat Tham Saeng Phet this temple is located on a stone plane and the complex includes a large cave known as Saeng Phet.
Mo Lam Village 20kms from Amnat Charoen, this traditional village is famous for its song and dance performances.
