Yesa Reservoir

Yesa Reservoir is a dam-created reservoir on the Aragón River in the Spanish autonomous communities bordering Navarre and Aragon. The reservoir stores water for irrigation and local water supply and has become a visual landmark in the valley it inundated.

Visitors primarily encounter shoreline viewpoints, the dam structure and watersports or recreational uses where permitted; formal visitor facilities are limited. The reservoir’s size and exposed banks vary seasonally with inflow and water management.

The dam was constructed in the mid-20th century to regulate river flow and expand water storage for agricultural use; later works to raise and stabilize the dam and reservoir footprint have been prominent in regional planning and environmental discussion.

The reservoir sits in the upper Aragón River valley on the interregional boundary between Navarre and Aragon, set among steep valley sides and agricultural land. It is accessed from nearby towns and provincial roads.
