The Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw commemorates the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and its participants through documents, artifacts and audiovisual displays. The museum opened in 2004 and focuses on the citywide civilian and military insurrection against Nazi occupation.
A multimedia permanent exhibition traces the uprising’s causes, daily life under occupation, combat actions and aftermath using personal items, weapons, photographs and film. Several immersive displays include a reconstructed sewer passage and street scenes to show how insurgents moved and fought in the city.
Established to preserve memory and research on the 1944 uprising, the museum was developed with veterans’ organizations, historians and public funding; it opened in 2004 and has since mounted temporary exhibitions, educational programs and commemorative events.
Located in the Wola district of Warsaw, the museum is a short distance west of the Old Town and is accessible by public transport from the city center.

How to Get to Warsaw Uprising Museum #
The Warsaw Uprising Museum is in the Wola district and is best reached by Warsaw Metro. Take Metro Line M2 to Rondo Daszyńskiego station - the museum is a short 3-5 minute walk (roughly 200-300 m) from the station. Several city tram and bus lines also serve the Rondo Daszyńskiego area; follow local signs for the museum from the roundabout.
If driving from central Warsaw, follow main city roads toward Rondo Daszyńskiego; there is limited pay parking nearby.
