Wankdorf Stadium (Stade de Suisse Wankdorf) is a modern football stadium in the Wankdorf area of Bern, Switzerland, serving as the home ground of BSC Young Boys. The current facility opened in 2005 on the site of the original Wankdorf stadium.
The venue has a covered seating bowl with a capacity of approximately 31,000 and is used for domestic league matches, cup ties and occasional international fixtures. It replaced the older stadium that hosted the 1954 FIFA World Cup final on the same site.
The original Wankdorf stadium dated from the early 20th century and was rebuilt and modernised over time before being demolished and replaced in the early 2000s. The new stadium was designed to meet contemporary safety, corporate and spectator standards while retaining the site’s sporting legacy.
Located in the Wankdorf quarter of Bern, the stadium sits close to the city centre and is directly served by Bern Wankdorf station and local tram and bus services.
