Vogel (mountain)

Vogel is a mountain in northwestern Slovenia overlooking Lake Bohinj in the Triglav National Park area. It is known for its high-elevation viewpoints and recreational facilities.

The mountain features a ski area used in winter and a network of marked hiking trails in summer, together with a cable car that brings visitors from the lake valley to the upper slopes. From the summit and upper platforms there are wide panoramic views of Lake Bohinj, the Julian Alps and Mount Triglav.

Facilities at the upper station include visitor terraces and access points for trails of varying difficulty, making the mountain a year-round outdoor destination. Photographic viewpoints and short walks near the top are the most frequented activities.

Vogel has long been used for alpine recreation and was developed in the 20th century with lifts and visitor infrastructure to serve skiers and hikers. Its inclusion in Triglav National Park protects the mountain landscape and regulates development.

The mountain stands above the eastern shore of Lake Bohinj in northwestern Slovenia, inside the protected area of Triglav National Park.
