Viterbo Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Lawrence, is the principal church of Viterbo in Lazio and dates mainly from the 12th century.
Constructed in the 12th century and modified in later centuries, the cathedral has served as the seat of the Diocese of Viterbo and has been part of the town’s ecclesiastical and civic life since the Middle Ages.
Sited in Piazza San Lorenzo in central Viterbo, the cathedral sits within the walled medieval town about 80 kilometres north of Rome.

Regional trains run from Rome to Viterbo (journey about 1-1.5 hours), and from Viterbo’s station the cathedral is a short walk of around 5-15 minutes into the medieval centre.
