How to Get to Vinces#
Vinces is most easily reached by road from Guayaquil; Guayaquil’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) is the nearest major airport. Expect to transfer at Guayaquil’s bus terminal for the final leg to Vinces.
José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE): From GYE (Guayaquil) the most common route to Vinces is by road. From the airport you can take a taxi to Terminal Terrestre de Guayaquil (≈15-25 min, USD 6-12) and then an interprovincial bus/minibus to Vinces (≈1.5-2 hr, USD 2-3). A direct private taxi from the airport to Vinces takes about 1.5-2 hr and typically costs USD 50-80.
Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO): Quito is used when arriving from farther away. Flights Quito→Guayaquil are ~1 hr; from Guayaquil follow the options above. Overland buses Quito→Guayaquil run overnight (≈8-10 hr) and are a cheaper alternative (tickets often USD 8-15).
Train: Ecuador does not have regular passenger rail service linking Guayaquil to Vinces, so trains are not a practical option.
