Villa Pisani

Villa Pisani is an 18th-century Venetian villa on the Brenta River in Stra, Veneto, and is operated as a national museum. It is notable for its large formal gardens and a historic mansion complex dating from the Baroque period.

Built by the Pisani family during the 18th century as a country seat for an important Venetian patrician family, the complex was intended as a showpiece of wealth and social status. Over time the villa passed through changes in ownership and use and has since been preserved and presented as a museum complex representing Venetian villa architecture and landscape design.

The villa sits on the Brenta River in the town of Stra, roughly between Venice and Padua in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The setting is low-lying river plain with other historic villas along the same stretch of the Brenta Riviera.
