Tymphe, also known as Tymfi, is a mountain massif in the Epirus region of northwestern Greece and part of the larger Pindus range. It forms a central feature of the Vikos-Aoös National Park and is noted for steep limestone relief.

The massif includes high peaks and ridges, alpine plateaus, and deep gorges on its flanks; established trails and climbing routes provide access for hikers and mountaineers. The northern slopes descend into the Vikos Gorge, a major natural attraction with trail access and viewpoints.

The range has been a geographic and ecological landmark in Epirus for centuries, with traditional pastoral use of high meadows and later protection through national park designation to preserve its karst landscapes and biodiversity.

How to Get to Tymphe #

Tymphe is in the Epirus region of northwestern Greece. The mountain’s popular access points are the villages of Mikro Papigo and Vitsa. From Ioannina or Igoumenitsa, drive inland and follow regional signs toward Zagori and Papigo; local buses run seasonally to Zagori and nearby villages.
