How to Get to Tosagua#
Tosagua is an inland town in Manabí Province; the nearest airport for most visitors is Manta (MEC) and overland connections (buses and colectivos) are the standard way to reach the town. Interprovincial buses provide the lifeline for regional travel.
Eloy Alfaro International Airport, Manta (MEC): Manta is the nearest airport serving Manabí Province; from Manta you can reach Tosagua by road in roughly 45-90 minutes depending on route and traffic. Ground transfers are by bus, colectivo or taxi.
José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, Guayaquil (GYE): Guayaquil is a major international hub; overland travel from GYE to Tosagua requires an interprovincial bus or private transfer and can take several hours depending on itinerary.
Train: There is no practical passenger rail service for reaching Tosagua.
Bus: Interprovincial buses and colectivos link Tosagua with Manta, Portoviejo and other Manabí towns. Travel time from Manta is typically under two hours; fares are inexpensive and minibuses serve shorter routes to town centres.
