Torres KIO

The Puerta de Europa towers, commonly called Torres KIO, are a pair of identical, inclined office skyscrapers located at Plaza de Castilla in northern Madrid. They form a distinctive gateway along the Paseo de la Castellana.

Each tower is an inclined structure of roughly 114-115 metres in height with about 26 storeys and a 15-degree tilt; the pair frame the plaza and are used primarily for offices. The immediate area includes transport links and other high-rise buildings, so the towers are viewed as part of a modern business district.

Construction was completed in the 1990s and the towers have been a visible element of Madrid’s skyline since their opening. Their twin, leaning design makes them a frequent reference point for the Plaza de Castilla area.

They stand on the northern axis of the Paseo de la Castellana, at the transport node of Plaza de Castilla in Madrid’s Chamartín/ Tetuán area, north of the city centre.
