Titelberg

Titelberg is an archaeological hill site in south-west Luxembourg that was a major Iron Age oppidum and later saw Roman-period occupation. The site is associated with settlement and craft activity during the late Iron Age and provides evidence of urbanization and economic activity in the pre-Roman and Roman eras.

Excavations have exposed the flattened plateau, defensive earthworks and areas with building foundations and industrial traces, showing prolonged occupation and adaptation under Roman influence. The site represents one of the important Iron Age centers in the region and yields material evidence for trade and metalworking.

Titelberg sits in the Canton of Esch-sur-Alzette in south-west Luxembourg, close to the modern border region with France and Belgium and within a short distance of local towns such as Rodange and Dudelange.
