Tiscali (village)

Tiscali is a prehistoric Nuragic village preserved within a collapsed limestone hollow in the Supramonte massif of Sardinia, Italy. The site is notable for its unusual cave-like setting that contains the remains of a settlement rather than a single nuraghe tower.

Ruined stone hut foundations and low walls are grouped inside the hollow; the setting is compact and visited chiefly for the archaeological remains and the karst landscape. There are no onsite services, and visits are typically combined with hikes through Mediterranean woodland and limestone terrain.

Archaeological remains at Tiscali date to the Nuragic period and show domestic planimetry consistent with village occupation rather than a single monumental structure. The ruins demonstrate habitation phases and reuse over time typical of Sardinian Bronze Age settlements.

The site sits in central-eastern Sardinia within the Supramonte highlands, in the interior uplands of the island near the administrative area of Nuoro. The nearest settlements are small mountain towns; access is by trail from roads in the Supramonte.
