The National Cinema Museum

The National Cinema Museum is a museum of film located in Turin, Piedmont, housed within the landmark Mole Antonelliana. It is one of Italy’s principal institutions for cinema history and technology.

Gallery spaces occupy several floors within the Mole and include displays of cameras, projectors, posters, props and multimedia installations. The building’s interior emphasizes vertical circulation and culminates in an upper viewing area that offers panoramic city views. Exhibitions range from historical film technology to themed temporary shows covering directors, genres and national cinemas.

The museum grew from private collections assembled in Turin and was installed within the Mole to take advantage of the building’s dramatic interior spaces. Over time the institution expanded its holdings and presentation formats to include audiovisual and interactive displays alongside conserved film objects.

Situated in central Turin, the museum sits in the Piazza della Repubblica area inside the Mole Antonelliana, within easy walking distance of other central city attractions and transport links.
