The Temple of Hercules Victor is an ancient circular temple in Rome’s Forum Boarium, dating to the late Republican period and notable for its well-preserved ring of columns.
The temple presents a complete peristyle of Greek-style columns around a circular cella and is visible from adjacent public spaces. As an enduring example of Republican-era temple architecture near the Tiber, it is a frequent stop on walks of ancient Rome.
Constructed in the late 2nd to early 1st century BCE, the temple was dedicated to Hercules and has survived through continuous reuse and conservation; its marble colonnade is especially well preserved compared with many other Republican monuments.
