Tavarua

Tavarua is a small, heart-shaped private island resort in the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji, famed for its proximity to some of the South Pacific’s premier surf breaks. The island’s coast and nearby reefs serve as a launching point for surfing, snorkeling and reef-based activities.

The principal attraction is access to world-class waves such as Cloudbreak, together with on-island resort amenities and short boat transfers to nearby reefs. The compact island footprint makes most facilities and beachfronts a short walk apart.

The island developed as a private resort focused on surf tourism, with infrastructure concentrated around guest accommodation and water-sport operations. Its reefs and beaches are managed in conjunction with the resort to support recreational use.

Tavarua lies in the Mamanuca group off the western coast of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu; guests normally reach it by boat or seaplane from Nadi and resort islands in the same archipelago.
