Tanna (island)

Tanna is a volcanic island in Vanuatu’s southern province of Tafea, known for its active volcano, traditional village culture and rugged tropical landscapes. The island is one of Vanuatu’s most visited destinations for both geological and cultural tourism.

A principal highlight is Mount Yasur, an accessible active volcano on the island’s east coast that produces frequent strombolian activity and is the focus of guided visits.
