Talara is primarily reached by its local airport (TYL) or by road from Piura; there is no significant passenger rail service. Once on the northern Piura coast, buses, taxis and mototaxis provide the main local transport.
Capitán FAP Víctor Montes Arias Airport (TYL): Talara is served by Talara Airport (TYL), located close to the city. From the airport the town centre is typically a 10-20 minute taxi ride.
Piura / Talara regional connections: Piura (PIU) is another regional airport with bus and road links to Talara; transfers take a few hours by road and are used when flight options to Talara are limited.
Train: There is no regular passenger rail service into Talara; the region relies on road transport.
