Main image

Sydney Football Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the Moore Park precinct of Sydney, New South Wales, used primarily for professional football codes and large events. The current stadium replaced an earlier venue on the same site and was rebuilt as a modern facility.

The venue features a covered seating bowl designed for rectangular-field sports and a range of hospitality and event spaces that host domestic and international rugby league, rugby union and soccer fixtures, as well as concerts. The seating capacity is in the low tens of thousands, suitable for major metropolitan sporting events.

The original stadium on the site dated from the late 20th century; it was demolished and replaced by the current stadium which opened in the early 2020s. The rebuild was part of a city precinct renewal to upgrade sporting infrastructure in Moore Park.

The stadium sits next to the Sydney Cricket Ground and is roughly 3 kilometres southeast of Sydney’s CBD, with multiple public transport options serving the Moore Park sporting precinct.

  • Rebuilt and reopened 2022: The stadium replaced an earlier stadium on the same Moore Park site and reopened as a new venue in 2022 with modern facilities and engineering upgrades.
  • Proximity to CBD: Situated adjacent to the Sydney Cricket Ground and within Moore Park, it is approximately 3 kilometres from Sydney's central business district and well served by public transport.
