St. Michael's Cathedral

St. Michael’s Cathedral is the 19th-century Serbian Orthodox cathedral in central Belgrade, serving as the main cathedral of the Metropolitanate of Belgrade and Karlovci. It is a prominent religious and cultural landmark in the city’s historic core.

The interior contains traditional Orthodox features and iconography and is used for regular liturgical services and major church ceremonies. The church is also a common stop on walking tours of Belgrade’s pedestrian zone and nearby historic sites.

Construction dates place the building in the 19th century and its role has been primarily ecclesiastical since completion. Over time it has undergone repairs and restorations typical for an urban cathedral but has continuously served as the metropolitan cathedral.
