St. Gereon's Basilica

St. Gereon’s Basilica is a Romanesque church in Cologne, Germany, and is part of the city’s group of twelve major Romanesque churches. It is particularly noted for its unusual decagonal choir and long medieval building history.

The basilica’s ten-sided choir and large vaulted spaces are distinctive features and a focal point for visitors interested in Romanesque architecture. The interior contains medieval masonry and later fittings, and the building is commonly included on heritage walking routes through Cologne.
