Sofia Airport

Sofia has two passenger terminals: Terminal 2 is the larger modern terminal housing most scheduled international and domestic services with comprehensive check‑in, security and a range of shops. Terminal 1 is smaller and handles a mix of low‑cost and other services. Both terminals provide basic passenger services, and there is a regular free shuttle bus between T1 and T2 for surface transfers.

Sofia city centre is about a 20-25 minute journey from the airport. The metro serves Terminal 2 with a direct line to central Sofia-travel time to the city centre is about 20-25 minutes and a single ticket costs roughly 1.60 BGN. Several city buses run to the airport from different parts of Sofia; taxis and app‑based ride services are available outside arrivals (typical taxi fare to the centre is around 15-25 BGN). Car hire desks are located at the terminal.

Terminal 2 offers a wider range of shops, duty‑free for international departures, cafés and restaurants; Terminal 1 has more limited amenities. Wi‑Fi is provided (usually free with limited duration). Charging points and ATMs are available in both terminals. There are airline lounges and some pay‑per‑use lounge options in T2; assistance for passengers with reduced mobility is available on request.

There are short‑stay hotels close to the airport and at a short taxi ride from the terminal.
