Smolikas is a high mountain in northwestern Greece, part of the Pindus range, and is one of the country’s tallest peaks at roughly 2,637 metres. It forms a prominent, often snow-capped massif in the Epirus region.
Hiking and mountaineering are the main activities, with routes that lead to the summit and to high alpine lakes such as the well-known mountain lake often called Drakolimni. Trails cross varied terrain from forested slopes to rocky highlands.
