Sifnos is a Cycladic island in the Aegean Sea known for its whitewashed villages, traditional pottery and a strong culinary reputation. The island combines coastal beaches with terraced hilltop settlements and a long local heritage of handicrafts.
Key attractions include the island’s main town, Apollonia, the medieval hilltop Kastro with layered houses and sea views, the iconic Chrysopigi chapel on a rocky islet and numerous small beaches and bays. Visitors commonly explore Sifnos by foot, scooter or short coastal drives to discover villages and local tavernas.
The island has a long history of quarrying and ceramic production, and many workshops still produce pottery using traditional methods. Over recent decades tourism has become a primary economy alongside agriculture and fishing, with an emphasis on small-scale hospitality and local cuisine.
Sifnos lies in the western Cyclades, a short ferry ride from neighbouring islands such as Paros and Serifos and reachable from Piraeus or regional ports by regular boat services.

- Chrysopigi: A small seaside monastery and pilgrimage site located on a rocky islet connected at low tide and known for its photo-friendly setting and chapel.
- Villages and beaches: Traditional villages and beaches accessible by coastal roads and walking trails that form a popular network for day trips, local food and short hikes.
