Sierra de Almijara is a mountain range in southern Spain, part of the Penibaetic System and adjoining other ranges in the region. It is noted for its rugged ridgelines and rocky limestone terrain.
The range contains steep slopes and narrow valleys with vegetation that varies by elevation; it is included in regional natural parks that protect its landscapes and biodiversity. The white marly limestones and scree give many of the ridges a pale appearance.
Located on the border area between the provinces of Málaga and Granada in Andalusia, it forms part of a chain of mountains that run parallel to the Mediterranean coast.
