Schloss Tegel is a historic manor house and park in the Tegel district of Berlin, known as the long-time residence of the Humboldt family. The estate is set within mature parkland near the Tegeler See area.
A landscaped park with paths and formal planting, the principal palace building, and the family mausoleum that marks the Humboldt connection. The grounds provide a green, historic ensemble within northern Berlin.
The estate was the hereditary seat of the von Humboldt family for several generations and became closely associated with Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt. The manor and park developed over the 18th and 19th centuries and retain memorial and familial features.
Located in the Tegel quarter of Berlin (Reinickendorf), the palace sits within a large park area near the northern lakeshores and residential districts of the city.
