Schloss Klessheim is an early 18th-century Baroque palace located just outside the city of Salzburg in Austria, originally constructed as a hunting and pleasure seat for the prince-archbishops.
The site includes the principal palace building with representative rooms and a surrounding formal park and tree-lined approaches. Part of the palace complex now houses the Casino Salzburg, and the grounds are used for events and public access.
Built in the early 1700s for Salzburg’s prince-archbishops, the palace served as a rural residence and hunting lodge. Over time it passed through varied uses and in the 20th century parts of the building were adapted for public and state uses including the casino.
Set just north-west of Salzburg city, the palace lies within short driving distance of the city centre and Salzburg Airport, positioned on the outskirts of the urban area amid parkland and former hunting grounds.
