Schloss Hof

Schloss Hof is a large Baroque country estate in Lower Austria notable for its palace, formal gardens and extensive historic farm buildings. The ensemble dates to the early 18th century and is strongly associated with the period of Prince Eugene of Savoy and later Habsburg court developments.

The estate’s highlights are the palace’s richly articulated Baroque façades and ceremonial rooms, the terraced French-style gardens with parterres and axial views, and the preserved farmyard and outbuildings that illustrate historic estate agriculture. Visitors commonly tour the palace interiors, walk the garden terraces, and visit the restored farm buildings and stables.

Schloss Hof was acquired and substantially enlarged in the 18th century by Prince Eugene of Savoy; subsequent Habsburg stewardship shaped the complex into the ensemble visible today. Restoration and museum development in the 20th and 21st centuries have opened the palace and farm buildings to the public as a cultural site.
