Schengen Castle is a historic castle in the village of Schengen in south-eastern Luxembourg, located on the Moselle River in the Canton of Remich. The site is connected to the wider European Schengen name and identity.

A compact castle complex and grounds with riverside views over the Moselle and the surrounding vineyard slopes. On site there is a small, permanent exhibition explaining the Schengen Agreement and the development of Europe’s border-free area.

By car it lies on the Moselle in southeastern Luxembourg - roughly a 35-45 minute drive from Luxembourg City via the A1/E29 eastbound.

• Visit Schengen Castle in the morning on weekdays when the small European museum is quieter and you can take time reading the Schengen Agreement exhibits without weekend tour-group crowds.
• Enter through the castle courtyard/main museum entrance and then walk down to the riverside - the outdoor Schengen memorial and border markers along the Moselle are easy to miss but give important context to the indoor displays.
• Combine your visit with a short walk along the Moselle vineyards and cross to the adjacent riverbank viewpoint for good photos of the castle and the tri-border area (France/Germany/Luxembourg).
