How to Get to Šavnik
Šavnik is a small mountain town in north‑central Montenegro; most arrivals are by road after flying into Podgorica or Tivat. There is no train service to Šavnik - intercity buses and private cars/transfers provide the usual connections.
Podgorica Airport (TGD): The primary airport for Montenegro. From Podgorica you can reach Šavnik by road: driving takes roughly 1.5-2 hours depending on route; regular intercity buses connect Podgorica with Šavnik via Danilovgrad and Nikšić. Bus fares for these regional routes are typically modest (a few euros).
Tivat Airport (TIV): Tivat is a seasonal option on the coast; travel to Šavnik requires a longer road journey (around 2-3 hours) and usually a combination of buses or a private transfer - direct public connections are limited, especially outside summer.
Train: Montenegro’s passenger rail network does not serve Šavnik directly; the railways are limited to certain corridors (e.g., to Bar/Podgorica).
