San Cristf3bal Island is one of the Gale1pagos Islands in Ecuador and is the easternmost major island in the archipelago. It is an important administrative and transport centre for the Gale1pagos, containing the provincial capital and main airport on the island.

The island is known for marine wildlife such as sea lions, seabirds and rich dive sites, including a prominent offshore rock formation popular with divers. Visitors come for wildlife viewing, snorkeling and day trips to key coastal sites.

San Cristf3bal has been recorded by naturalists since the 19th century and featured in Charles Darwins visits to the islands. Human settlement and port facilities grew in the 19th and 20th centuries as the islands developed naval and administrative roles.

Geographically San Cristf3bal lies on the eastern side of the Gale1pagos archipelago in the eastern Pacific and is one of the islands most directly connected by air and sea to mainland Ecuador.
