Saint Mary’s Tower is a large coastal watchtower on the island of Comino, Malta, built by the Knights of St John to control the channel between Malta and Gozo.
The tower is a prominent landmark on Comino and offers panoramic views over the island and the nearby Blue Lagoon and channels; it is a frequent stop on boat trips around Comino. The tower’s size and coastal location make it one of the island’s principal historic attractions.
Erected by the Order of St John in the early 17th century as part of Malta’s chain of coastal watchtowers, the structure served as a defensive and signaling post for sea traffic between the islands.
