Ruins of São Miguel das Missões

The Ruins of São Miguel das Missões are the stone remains of an 18th-century Jesuit mission settlement in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The site is one of the surviving mission complexes associated with Jesuit activity among the Guarani people.

The mission was established by Jesuit missionaries in the 18th century as part of efforts to gather and convert Guarani communities and to organise communal life. The community and its buildings were later abandoned and fell into ruin; the remains have been the subject of preservation and interpretation.

The ruins are located in the municipality of São Miguel das Missões in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, set in a rural landscape with managed visitor access.
