Rudnik is a wooded mountain massif in central Serbia known for its highest point, Cvijićev vrh, which rises to about 1,132 metres above sea level. The area combines natural ridges and forested slopes with a long history of mineral extraction.
The massif is popular for local hiking and outdoor recreation, with trails that lead to panoramic viewpoints and the summit. Remains of historic mining activity are visible in places, reflecting extraction of ores from antiquity through medieval and more recent times.
Rudnik’s mining history dates back centuries and the area was an important local source of metal ores in Roman and medieval periods; operations continued intermittently into modern times and left a landscape of small workings and access tracks.
The mountain lies in Central Serbia, forming part of the inland highlands; it is accessed from nearby municipal towns and rural roads in the surrounding Šumadija region and central Serbian countryside.
