Rudawy Janowickie is a compact mountain range in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in south-western Poland, forming part of the Central Sudetes. The area is characterised by forested hills and granite rock formations that create cliffs, towers and scenic viewpoints.
The range is used for hiking, day walks and local outdoor recreation, with trails linking small villages and viewpoints; rock climbing occurs on some of the prominent granite crags. There are no large urban developments inside the range, and tourism is generally low-density and nature oriented.
Historically the area has been part of Silesian borderlands with local settlement, forestry and small-scale quarrying shaping the landscape over centuries. The mountains retain a mix of wooded slopes and exposed rock that reflect that history.
Geographically the Rudawy Janowickie lie on the northern foothills of the higher Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) near towns such as Janowice Wielkie and the regional centre of Jelenia Góra in Lower Silesia.
