Rosenburg

Rosenburg is a medieval castle complex in Lower Austria near the town of Horn, notable as a restored historic stronghold and public heritage site. The site dates back to the medieval period and is a prominent local landmark.

The ensemble includes the inner ward with preserved castle rooms, battlements and courtyards that visitors can tour. On-site programming includes a falconry centre with demonstrations and maintained terraces and gardens that provide views over the valley.

The castle originated in the medieval era and underwent successive rebuilding and restoration phases in later centuries. It has been adapted for public access and exhibitions while retaining its historic defensive structures.

Rosenburg stands on a rocky ridge above the Kamp river valley in the Weinviertel/Horn region of Lower Austria, close to the small towns of Rosenburg and Horn.
