Roman bridge of Córdoba

The Roman bridge of Córdoba (Puente Romano) is a stone bridge spanning the Guadalquivir River in Córdoba, Andalusia, originally built by the Romans in the 1st century BC and retaining its crossing line and multiple masonry arches. The structure forms a major historic approach to Córdoba’s central district and the Mezquita-Cathedral complex.

The bridge comprises 16 visible arches and has been repaired and modified in successive periods, including significant medieval and early modern interventions; at its southern end stands the Calahorra Tower, a later defensive structure. The bridge is commonly traversed on foot and is part of the city’s historic riverside ensemble, providing views of the Mosque-Cathedral and riverfront.
