The site is a ruined hilltop castle in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, dating from the medieval period and set on a steep limestone crag above the local valley.
A compact ruin perched on a prominent rock with fragments of curtain wall and foundations visible; the site is reached by woodland paths and offers elevated viewpoints over the surrounding Swabian Jura landscape.
The fortress originates in the medieval era and was associated with regional noble families and feudal control of the valley. It fell out of military use and gradually decayed into the ruin seen today.
Located above the valley near the village of Neidlingen in the Swabian Jura, roughly southeast of the Stuttgart area and accessed from local roads and hiking tracks.

How to Get to Reussenstein Castle #
The most common access is from the village of Neidlingen (near the B297/L1218). There are marked hiking trails and small parking areas at trailheads; the final approach involves a short steep path to the ruins.
Public transport to Neidlingen exists but is limited; most visitors arrive by car from nearby towns such as Kirchheim unter Teck or Nürtingen.

- Start from Neidlingen or the small car park on the L1218 and allow 45-90 minutes to reach the viewpoint - paths can be steep and rocky.
- Wear sturdy footwear; the last approach involves scrambling on limestone and the railings are minimal in places.
- Bring a camera with a telephoto lens: the ruin's defensive windows and the valley below make striking compositions in late afternoon light.
