Puy du Fou

Puy du Fou is a historical theme park and show complex in Les Epesses, in the Vendée area of Pays de la Loire, western France. It began as a large nocturnal spectacle and has expanded into a staffed park focused on staged historical reenactments.

The site is notable for staged spectacles that recreate periods such as medieval jousts, Viking landings and Roman arenas, presented across several purpose-built venues and open-air theatres. Shows vary in length and format and are the central reason most visitors come, with multiple programmes running daily in high season.

The project originated as a community theatrical production and developed into a commercial park with professional creative direction; the site expanded progressively through the late 20th and early 21st centuries to add permanent stages and visitor facilities.
