The Presidential Mansion in Athens is the official residence of the President of the Hellenic Republic, originally built in the late 19th century as the Crown Prince’s Palace. The building occupies a prominent location adjacent to the National Garden and near central government buildings.
Architecturally the mansion was designed by Ernst Ziller and completed in the 1890s; since the establishment of the republic it has served as the presidential residence and reception venue. The building is primarily viewed from the outside by the public, while official events are held there on occasion.
Constructed in the late 19th century for royal use, the mansion later became the official presidential residence and has been maintained for state functions and formal receptions. Its role shifted with Greece’s constitutional changes in the 20th century from a royal residence to a republican institution.

Taxis and city buses serving central Athens also stop near Syntagma and the National Garden if approaching from other parts of the city.
