Považský Inovec

Považský Inovec is a mountain range in western Slovakia that forms part of the Inner Western Carpathians, with a highest summit known as Inovec at 1,042 metres above sea level.

The range is characterized by forested ridges, valleys and a network of marked hiking routes used for day trips and outdoor recreation; viewpoints on higher slopes afford broad views over the Váh river valley. Small castle ruins and historic settlements lie on the lower slopes and foothills.

Human use has historically included forestry, pastoral activity and local transport routes; several towns and villages at the range’s margins have long-established connections to its trails and resources.

Geographically the range runs above the Váh river corridor in western Slovakia, lying near towns such as Považská Bystrica and Trenčín and acting as a natural backdrop to the surrounding lowlands.
