Porto Digital

Porto Digital is an urban technology park and innovation district in Recife, Pernambuco, located in the city’s historic port area. It was established around 2000 as a formal cluster to concentrate digital and creative industries.

The district contains office clusters, incubators and spaces for startups and creative firms, often housed in renovated warehouses and historic buildings. Public spaces and cultural venues in the surrounding Recife Antigo neighborhood are a part of the area’s appeal for events and networking.

Created as a public-private initiative by Pernambuco state and local partners around the year 2000, the project aimed to revitalize the old port quarter and promote technology-led economic development. The program emphasized reuse of port-era buildings and close ties between government, universities and private firms.

Porto Digital occupies the Recife Antigo waterfront in central Recife, adjacent to the citys port and the Marco Zero area. The district sits within the historic core of Recife and is easily reached from the city center.
