How to Get to Port Lincoln
Port Lincoln is served by its own regional airport (PLO) with frequent flights from Adelaide; long-distance road coaches connect to Adelaide for a slower, cheaper option. There's no passenger rail-local movement is by taxi, hire car or limited local buses.
Port Lincoln Airport (PLO): The town’s local airport with regular regional flights from Adelaide (ADL) operated by Regional Express (Rex). Flight time from Adelaide is about 40-50 minutes; fares typically vary but can be in the AUD 150-300 range depending on season and advance booking. From PLO the airport is a short drive to the town centre-taxis and short transfers are available (see below).
Adelaide Airport (ADL): The major international gateway for long-haul travellers connecting to Port Lincoln via domestic flights. Adelaide also offers long-distance coach connections by Stateliner for those preferring road travel (see bus paragraph).
Train: There is no passenger rail service to Port Lincoln; the Eyre Peninsula has no active passenger train network.
Bus / Coach: Stateliner and other coach operators run services between Adelaide and Port Lincoln; travel time by coach is long (around 7-8 hours) but is an option for those avoiding flights. Fares commonly range from about AUD 50-90 depending on advance purchase and season.
