Piz Sesvenna
Mountain Alpine peak in the Sesvenna range, border area
Piz Sesvenna stands in the Sesvenna Alps (Graubünden) as a high alpine peak accessed from Engadine valleys; it attracts hikers and ski tourers for multi-day routes and broad mountain views.
Piz Sesvenna is an alpine peak in the Sesvenna Range of the Alps, located in the canton of Graubünden (Grisons) in eastern Switzerland. Its summit rises to 3,204 metres above sea level.
Alpine hikers and ski tourers visit for long ridge walks and panoramic summit views across the Engadine and toward neighbouring Italian ranges. Routes typically involve glacier-free alpine terrain and require mountain experience outside the brief summer season.
The mountain is a product of the Alpine orogeny like other peaks in the region; it has no constructed history but has long been part of local alpine travel and shepherding routes. Modern recreational ascents date from the era of alpine mountaineering in the 19th and 20th centuries.
