Piazza dei Signori is Vicenza’s main civic square, located in the city’s historic centre and surrounded by major public buildings. It is a core component of Vicenza’s Renaissance urban fabric and the city’s UNESCO World Heritage area.

The piazza is visually dominated by the white marble loggias of the Basilica Palladiana and the adjacent Torre Bissara, with open paved space used for markets, events and gatherings. Surrounding buildings include ornate public and noble facades dating from medieval through Renaissance periods, creating a compact architectural ensemble.

The square evolved as Vicenza’s political and commercial centre over centuries; the civic basilica was reworked by Andrea Palladio in the 16th century and later additions shaped the present appearance. The piazza continued to function as the town’s principal public space through modern times.
