Hillside park in Bilbao on a former industrial site, with terraces and views over the Nervión estuary; used for picnics, walks and city panoramas.
Parque Etxebarria is an urban park in Bilbao in the Basque Country, created on redeveloped industrial terrain to provide public green space on a hillside above the city. It forms part of Bilbao’s post-industrial urban regeneration.
Visitors encounter open lawns, pedestrian paths and vantage points offering views over the Nervión estuary and central Bilbao. The park is used for picnics, walking and informal outdoor activities by residents and visitors.
The park was established during Bilbao’s early-21st-century redevelopment of former industrial sites, converting steelworks and factory land into public recreational space. The conversion aimed to reconnect neighborhoods and restore green cover.
Parque Etxebarria sits on elevated ground within Bilbao, overlooking the Nervión estuary and linking urban neighborhoods along the river corridor.
