Parade Square

Parade Square (Plac Defilad) is a large open square in central Warsaw, Poland, located directly in front of the Palace of Culture and Science. It is one of the city’s largest public spaces and was created in the postwar period.

The square is dominated visually by the Palace of Culture and Science and is often used for large outdoor events, markets, and gatherings. Its broad open paved surface makes it a focal meeting point in the city center and provides direct access to surrounding streets, venues, and cultural institutions.

The square and the adjoining Palace of Culture and Science were developed in the 1950s during the postwar reconstruction period and were used for state parades and official events in the communist era. Since the late 20th century the area has been adapted for civilian events and commercial uses.

Parade Square sits in central Warsaw in the Masovian Voivodeship immediately adjacent to the Palace of Culture and Science, within easy walking distance of central transport hubs and the historic core.
