Pantelleria National Park is a protected area on the Italian island of Pantelleria in the Strait of Sicily. The park conserves the island’s volcanic landforms, endemic flora and characteristic rural architecture.
Hikers encounter trails across lava formations, rocky coastlines and the island’s highest ridge, with viewpoints overlooking the sea between Sicily and Tunisia. Thermal springs, natural rock arches and traditional stone dwellings called dammusi are among the island features that attract visitors.
The protected area was established to safeguard Pantelleria’s natural and cultural landscape and to regulate development across the island. Management focuses on conserving volcanic landforms, native vegetation and traditional rural structures.
The park covers much of Pantelleria island, located in the Strait of Sicily between Sicily and Tunisia, and is accessed from the island’s port and small airport.
