Pali-Aike National Park is a protected area in the Magallanes Region of southern Chile covering part of the Pali Aike volcanic field and associated Patagonian steppe. It is notable for its extensive lava flows, scoria cones and archaeological sites.

The park’s main attractions are the volcanic landforms - dark basaltic lava plains, collapsed lava tubes and numerous small cinder cones - that can be explored via short trails and vehicle tracks. Open landscapes and scattered volcanic features provide opportunities for geology-focused walks and photography.

Archaeological investigations have identified rock shelters and open-air sites within the volcanic terrain that were used by hunter-gatherer groups; these remains are an important part of the park’s cultural heritage. The area has been managed as a protected area to preserve both geological and archaeological values.

The park lies in the Patagonian steppe close to Chile’s border with Argentina, within the southern portion of continental Chile. The landscape is broadly flat to gently rolling with volcanic cones punctuating the plain.

  • Volcanic landscape: The park protects a basaltic volcanic field characterized by dark lava plains and many small volcanic cones that are accessible by short walks.
  • Prehistoric occupation: Archaeological remains in the park document Paleoindian and later hunter-gatherer use of the shelters and plains; these finds are part of the area's archaeological significance.
